 *PRESS RELEASE* EDO POLICE CONVENES POLITICAL PARTIES, SETS SECURITY TONE FOR 2027 ELECTIONEERING The Edo State Police Command has convened Chairmen of political parties, candidates and other key stakeholders in the electoral process for a strategic security meeting ahead of the 2027 electioneering campaigns. The meeting, held on Wednesday, 16th September, 2026, was designed to strengthen engagement between the Police and political actors, promote early understanding of security expectations, and establish a framework for peaceful and lawful political activities across the State. Addressing participants, the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Patrick Daaor, psc(+), mnips, emphasised that the role of the Police is to create the conditions for lawful political activity to thrive, not to participate in the political contest, and stressed the need for responsible conduct and sustained cooperation with security agencies. NAPTIP TO PARTNER WITH LEBANESE GOVERNMENT IN THE FIGHT AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

• Earlier today the ambassador the Lebanese embassy in Nigeria H.E Mr. Houssam Diab, paid a visit to NAPTIP in a bid to continue the fight against Human Trafficking and discuss ways forward.
• The Ambassador talked about the Lebanese government stopping work permit visas specifically as preventative measure for Nigerians in particular so as to avoid irregular migration before a better solution can be reached.
• The Director General’s response, she assured the Ambassador that there will be more collaborations with the Lebanese embassy in Nigeria in the future to perfect issues around legal migration for mutual benefit.
