 *PRESS RELEASE* EDO POLICE CONVENES POLITICAL PARTIES, SETS SECURITY TONE FOR 2027 ELECTIONEERING The Edo State Police Command has convened Chairmen of political parties, candidates and other key stakeholders in the electoral process for a strategic security meeting ahead of the 2027 electioneering campaigns. The meeting, held on Wednesday, 16th September, 2026, was designed to strengthen engagement between the Police and political actors, promote early understanding of security expectations, and establish a framework for peaceful and lawful political activities across the State. Addressing participants, the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Patrick Daaor, psc(+), mnips, emphasised that the role of the Police is to create the conditions for lawful political activity to thrive, not to participate in the political contest, and stressed the need for responsible conduct and sustained cooperation with security agencies.  Two feared dead as container falls on a bus in Lagos 


At least two persons were killed on Sunday, January 29, when a container fell on a bus at Ojuelegba bridge, Lagos State. 


It was gathered that the affected bus was fully loaded with passengers and at least two persons were confirmed dead on the spot. 


According to reports, an eyewitness disclosed that the trailer wanted to block the bus from overtaking him when the unfortunate incident happened.
