Also, 759 other prominent figures and organisations in Maitama II, Abuja. were also affected by the revocation which was for non-payment of Certificate of Occupancy. LAGOS NSCDC JOINS FORCE WITH FFS AND NIS, KESHINRO AVOWS COMMITMENT TO EFFECTIVE DISASTER MANAGEMENT.



The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command, Mr Adedotun Keshinro has reiterated his commitment to ensure effective disaster management in the state. The Lagos State Commandant made this known, when he visited the Federal Fire Service, yesterday, Thursday, 16th May, 2024. 


The Lagos State Commandant was received by the State Controller, Deputy Controller of Fire Oduyelu Olumuyiwa, who attested to the inseparable relationship between both agencies especially, in the areas of mutual training, operations and protection of lives and property of the people. He called on the NSCDC to continue to give them the needed support during their operations in order to prevent mob actions and other unforseen crises or disaster. 


The NSCDC and Federal Fire Service in the state agreed also to implement the directives of the government in ensuring the fulfilment of the Joint National Fire Code, which is a comprehensive guideline for fire prevention and safety standards. It covers various aspects, including; building construction, fire alarm systems, emergency exits, and firefighting equipment.


In the same vein, the Lagos State Commandant also joined force with the Nigeria Immigration Service, in a bid to halt foreign nationals from smuggling petroleum products into the country and at the same time sabotaging the country's economy. The Immigration Service has the capacity to identify the nationality of persons suspected to be involved in such heinous crime of vandalism of our critical and national assets such as Oil and Gas pipelines, Telecommunications, Power, Air, Rail, Road, Water and many others.


The Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service, Lagos State Command, Bala Dangana, who received the Lagos State Commandant of the Corps in his office in Ikoyi also affirmed that the joint efforts of both agencies will go a long way to stem the tide of insecurity in the state. One of the Comptroller's strong points was that there was need for a concreted effort amongst all security agencies in a bid to do their jobs better.


The Lagos State Commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro will continue to synergize with all stakeholders in the state including, Civil Society, Traditional Stools, Religious Bodies, Media, Missions, Non-Governmental Organizations, Youth Organizations, Groups and other well meaning citizens in a bid to advance the security and safety of the state.
