 Former Kennedy Center employees allege leadership delayed roof repairs before citing safety issues in closure decision Former Kennedy Center employees allege that the venue’s leadership knew about serious structural problems well before citing newly discovered hazards as the reason for its abrupt closure this month. The claims were outlined in a letter to Congress from a lawyer representing anonymous whistleblowers. The letter accuses the center’s executive director and chief operating officer, Matt Floca, of failing to prioritize roof repairs and stopping a funded repair plan in April. Floca disputes the allegations, saying recent inspections revealed that water damage had spread farther into the building than officials previously knew. In a September court declaration, Floca cited “acute risks to public safety” following an inspection that found deterioration in a roof terrace canopy and a partial ceiling collapse. Nicole Kidman Reflects on Marriage to Tom Cruise, Says Falling in Love at 22 Felt ‘Completely Natural’

Nicole Kidman has described her marriage to Tom Cruise as a natural part of her life, reflecting on the relationship more than three decades after they first married.

In a new British Vogue cover story, the Oscar winner, 59, said she was only 22 when she married Cruise, who was already a major movie star, but said the experience did not feel unusual to her at the time.

“Suddenly I was 22, 23 years old and I had this huge movie star husband. But it just seemed completely natural. We just fell madly in love and it was that simple,” Kidman said.

Kidman recalled being warned that marrying Cruise could affect her career, but said she was focused on their relationship rather than the potential impact on her work.

The couple met while filming Days of Thunder in 1990 and married on Christmas Eve that year. They later starred together in Far and Away and Eyes Wide Shut and adopted two children, Bella and Connor.

Their marriage ended in divorce in August 2001 after more than a decade together. Kidman previously said she needed time alone after the split because she had been very young when she married.

Kidman later married singer Keith Urban in 2006. They announced their separation in September 2025 after 19 years of marriage and share two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
