 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

Two prominent Nigerian women, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Mo Abudu have been named among Forbes‘ 100 World’s Most Powerful Women for 2025, a proof of their trailblazing achievements and influence in their respective fields.

Okonjo-Iweala, ranked 92nd, becomes the first woman and African to lead the World Trade Organisation (WTO) as Director-General.

With over 30 years of experience in international development, she has served two terms as Nigeria’s Finance Minister and briefly acted as Foreign Minister.

Her leadership has been instrumental in promoting trade as a tool for sustainable development and poverty reduction.

Mo Abudu, ranked 98th, is a media pioneer and founder of EbonyLife Media, which has revolutionised African entertainment and storytelling.

Their recognition alongside other powerful women like Ursula von der Leyen, Christine Lagarde, and newcomers like Kim Kardashian, underscores the growing impact of women leaders in shaping global industries and narratives. 

Her network, EbonyLife TV, reaches over 49 countries, and she has forged groundbreaking partnerships with global giants like Sony Pictures, AMC Networks, and Netflix. Abudu’s vision has positioned her as one of the most influential women in global media.
