 Anambra Govt Warns Against Purchase of Encroached Land at Trans-Nkissi By MaryAnn Chukwuma The Anambra State Ministry of Lands has warned members of the public against purchasing plots at TransNkissi Phase 1, behind the Federal Government Girls College, Onitsha, from persons claiming ownership on behalf of the Umuosodi family of Onitsha. The warning was contained in a public notice dated Sept. 28, 2026, with Ref. No. PS/ML/2026/CR/VOL.II/028 and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, for the Commissioner. According to the notice, the Ministry became aware that persons alleged to be members of the Umuosodi family had invaded and commenced clearing portions of the land with the intention of selling them to unsuspecting members of the public. It said compensatory plots had been allocated to the family and other families in Onitsha before the current administration.  Ben Kure Thanks Governor Uba Sani, Kaduna Assembly After Screening As Sports Commissioner


The newly appointed Commissioner for Sports Development in Kaduna State, Ben SD Kure, has expressed appreciation to Governor Uba Sani and members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly following his screening for the position.


Kure thanked Governor Sani for the confidence reposed in him through the appointment, describing the opportunity as both a privilege and a call to serve the people of Kaduna State with dedication, integrity and measurable results.


He also commended the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly and members of the legislature for the successful screening held on October 30.


Kure congratulated fellow appointees Amina Dalhat and Abdullahi Garba Abbas, who were screened alongside him.


The commissioner-designate also acknowledged former colleagues at the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC), the Daddu Ward Councillor, Hon. Emmanuel Lalle; Jaba Local Government Secretary, Victor Shamaki; his Ward Chairman; and other stakeholders from Jaba Local Government Area who attended the screening despite the short notice.


He particularly appreciated Professor Suwaiba, Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSSEB), as well as the member representing Jaba Constituency, Hon. Henry Marah, for their support.


Kure said the support and presence of stakeholders demonstrated the unity and solidarity needed to strengthen the party and contribute to the development of Kaduna State.


He reaffirmed his loyalty to the administration of Governor Uba Sani and pledged to support the governor's vision for a united, prosperous and inclusive Kaduna State.


According to him, he will focus on advancing sports development and creating greater opportunities for young people across the state.


He concluded by praying for the continued success of Governor Sani, Kaduna State and all those supporting the administration's efforts.
