 Anambra Govt Warns Against Purchase of Encroached Land at Trans-Nkissi By MaryAnn Chukwuma The Anambra State Ministry of Lands has warned members of the public against purchasing plots at TransNkissi Phase 1, behind the Federal Government Girls College, Onitsha, from persons claiming ownership on behalf of the Umuosodi family of Onitsha. The warning was contained in a public notice dated Sept. 28, 2026, with Ref. No. PS/ML/2026/CR/VOL.II/028 and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, for the Commissioner. According to the notice, the Ministry became aware that persons alleged to be members of the Umuosodi family had invaded and commenced clearing portions of the land with the intention of selling them to unsuspecting members of the public. It said compensatory plots had been allocated to the family and other families in Onitsha before the current administration. RAPPER RICK ROSS WAS ARRESTED EARLY THURSDAY. (PHOTO).

Rapper Rick Ross was arrested early Thursday, October 1, 2026 in Miami Beach on domestic violence-related charges. He was booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center at 6:10 a.m. on one felony count of battery by strangulation and one misdemeanor count of battery, both classified as domestic violence. Bond was set at $5,000 to $6,000 total, and he pleaded not guilty during a Zoom bond hearing.


 The charges stem from allegations by ex-girlfriend Jazzma Kendrick about an incident on August 28 at Ross's Star Island home. Kendrick told police she was awakened over an Instagram photo, and alleged Ross slapped her, struck her chest, grabbed her ponytail, slammed her against a wall and choked her to the point she could not breathe. She posted photos of a busted lip on Instagram Stories on September 26 and filed a police report on September 29. Judge Mindy Glazer issued a stay-away order barring contact with Kendrick and set an arraignment for October 22 . Ross's attorneys Steve Sadow and Bradley Horenstein said he is "being wrongfully accused by an ex-girlfriend whose true motivations are unclear and noted the report was filed about a month after the alleged incident.
