Anne Schedeen, ALF star who played Kate Tanner, dies at 77 Anne Schedeen, best known for playing Kate Tanner on the NBC sitcom ALF, has died at the age of 77. Her family said she “passed peacefully” in a statement shared Sunday, adding that she died surrounded by the legacy of her life and work. A cause of death was not disclosed. In their tribute, her family described Schedeen as someone with “creative energy,” sharp humor, and a deep love for her family, storytelling, and rescue dogs. They remembered her as a strong presence in their lives, saying her memory would live on through her artwork, handmade creations, and “joie de vivre.” They also asked loved ones to honor her by supporting Habitat for Humanity in lieu of sending flowers. Her longtime agent confirmed her death and said she meant “the world” to both her family and her professional circle.  Anambra Govt House Barricade Not Destroyed By Rainstorm ---State Government

The Anambra State Government has dismissed false reports circulating in some media claiming that "a structure in the new Government House" collapsed due to poor quality during the heavy rainstorm on April 9. These reports are misleading and mischievous. The government clarifies that no structure within the Anambra State Government House, commonly referred to as the 'Lighthouse,' has collapsed.


What was affected were only a few partitions of barricade barriers placed outside the Government House, about 20 meters from the perimeter fence. This incident was caused by heavy winds and thunderstorms that caused damage across many parts of the state that evening, including private properties.


This was announced in a press release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Aburime, on April 11.


The Anambra State Government condemns the spread of false information on this matter, which appears to be a deliberate attempt by some misguided individuals to mislead Ndi Anambra and politicise a natural weather event that affected other areas beyond Anambra State.


The Anambra Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) has been mobilised to the site to undertake repairs. Efforts are ongoing to fully restore the damaged sections of the barrier and implement additional engineering measures, including creating sufficient space for the free flow of heavy wind, to prevent similar incidents in the future," the statement said.


Mr. Aburime urged the public to ignore these false reports and continue supporting the progressive agenda of the governor.
