East Boston soccer ball installation sets Guinness World Record as world’s largest ahead of FIFA World Cup matches in Massachusetts   A giant soccer ball installed at Piers Park II in East Boston has officially been recognized as the world’s largest, surpassing a previous record set in Qatar in 2013. The inflatable structure was created by Britten, Inc. and Creative Inflatables in Ohio as a celebration of upcoming FIFA World Cup matches scheduled to take place in Foxborough in June and July. The installation will remain on public display through June 18, giving visitors a chance to see the record-breaking display up close. Officials said the materials used in the structure will be recycled once the exhibit is taken down.

A KANSAS COMMUNITY IS REELING AFTER A 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL WAS FOUND DECEASED ONLY BLOCKS FROM HER SCHOOL, AND A 14-YEAR-OLD BOY HAS BEEN ARRESTED. (PHOTO).

A Kansas community is reeling after a 14-year-old girl was found deceased only blocks from her school, and a 14-year-old boy has been arrested.

Rubi Perez was discovered deceased by a citizen of Great Bend on the morning of Thursday, April 9th. She was found near the local cemetery on a dirt pile.

Rubi had been reported  missing on Wednesday evening when she failed to return home from the Great Bend Middle School. Rubi  was set to graduate from 8th grade in only a few weeks.

This passing has left the entire community rocked, and even more so when an arrest was announced. A 14-year-old male classmate of Rubi's has been taken into custody. Authorities have not released his name but have confirmed he is being charged with first-degree homicide.

Great Bend School District has provided counselors for students affected by the shocking events and said they will be available for students in the coming days.

The community has come together to support Rubi's family and friends. Including a raffle planned for April 20th with the hopes of raising $10,000 to help with the family's expenses. A local martial arts business is offering free self-defense classes for all middle, high school, and college-aged girls for the next 6 months.

Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Rubi Perez and this community as a whole.
