 ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND RECEIVES AND AUGMENTS IGP’S MONITORING UNIT OPERATIVES ON ENFORCEMENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL WITHDRAWAL FROM VIP ESCORT DUTIES IN THE STATE The Anambra State Police Command today 8th December 2025 formally received operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Monitoring Unit deployed to the state to ensure full implementation of the IGP’s directive on the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP escort and guard duties. The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting the IGP’s reform efforts targeted at enhancing professionalism, discipline, and optimal deployment of police manpower nationwide. The CP noted that the withdrawal of these officers will help to strengthen public policing, improve response capacity, and ensure that more personnel are available for core policing duties across the state. 2 BENIN MORTUARY ATTENDANTS,STOLE FROM A DEAD WOMAN.

           The accused,50 year old Osaro Benjamin and 26 years old Idowu Eriemator,both employees of Stella Obasanjo Hospital in Benin,allegedly conspired and committed the offence on 12 May 2014,at thw morgue of the hospital,located along County Home road off Sapele road.They both stole from one late Mrs Esther Akora.They stole her gold earrings,gold necklace and a gold wedding ring all valued at N4million.They were both arraigned before a magistrate court for conspiracy and stealing.They both pleaded not guilty.The magistrate granted both of them bail but not withstanding,If they are both convicted,they could face two to three years jail term.
