  Ondo air crash pilot dies two weeks after wedding Squadron Leader Ahamefule Aham Man-Ugwueje, one of the pilots of the Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft, NAF 931, which crashed in Igbokoda, Ondo State, on Monday, got married in an elaborate ceremony in Abuja two weeks before the accident. Man-Ugwueje tied the knot with Flight Lieutenant Damilola Adekunle on September 19, 2026, according to details of the wedding invitation and posts by vendors involved in the ceremony. According to information on his Facebook profile, Man-Ugwueje’s hometown is listed as Umuahia, Abia State, while Abuja is listed as his current town/city. The aircraft, which had 25 people on board, including five crew members and 20 passengers, crashed while on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos. The Nigerian Air Force on Tuesday confirmed that all 25 people on board died in the accident and released their names. On 30th September 2026, operatives of Okpoko Division, acting on credible intelligence, raided a suspected criminal hideout around Coca-Cola Market, Okpoko, and arrested Somtochukwu Ezeibe, male, aged 20 years.   Kenya confirms first Ebola case imported from Congo, patient has died Kenya has ‌recorded its first confirmed Ebola case, a Kenyan citizen who has been living in Democratic Republic ​of Congo and arrived in Nairobi ​on Saturday, health minister Aden Duale ⁠said. The patient has since died, and 28 ​contacts have been identified so far including ​family members and health workers, Duale told a press conference.

 OVER 100 BROADCAST MEDIA CHIEFS TO CONVERGE IN CALABAR Over 100 chief executive officers of broadcast media houses across Nigeria are expected in Calabar, the Cross River State capital this Thursday to review challenges confronting the broadcast industry and proffer solutions. The meeting to be hosted by the Cross River State Government, will be declared open by the Governor, Bassey Edet Otu, at the Conference Hall of Hogis Royale Hotel, State Housing Estate, Calabar.  The Executive Secretary of the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria, Dr. Yemisi Bamgbose, says the meeting will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to deliberate on issues affecting the industry, while the Chairman of BON, Tony Akiotu, will preside over the meeting. Top on the agenda are multiple taxation imposed on private broadcast stations and dwindling funding for government-owned radio and television stations.

 ANAMBRA POLICE: CP NNANNA ORDERS QUERY OF DPO, TWO OTHER OFFICERS OVER ALLEGEDLY UNACCOUNTED ARRESTED SUSPECT AT 3-3 POLICE STATION The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, psc, mnips, has ordered the immediate issuance of queries to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of 3-3 Police Station and a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), while directing the immediate commencement of disciplinary proceedings against an Inspector of Police, following allegations concerning the whereabouts of an armed robbery suspect reportedly arrested and brought to the station. The Commissioner gave the directives on 5th October 2026, after personally interviewing the complainant and the police officers concerned over a viral video alleging that an armed robbery suspect arrested and brought to the station could not be accounted for.
