STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE   PRESIDENT TINUBU TO EMBARK ON A THREE-NATION TRIP   President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday, May 2nd, on a visit to Kenya, Rwanda and France.   President Tinubu’s first stop will be in France, after which he will depart for Nairobi, Kenya, to attend the Africa-France Summit scheduled to begin next week.   Co-chaired by President Emmanuel Macron and President William Ruto, the summit focuses on energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, restructuring of global financing architecture, and climate action.   President Tinubu’s participation at the summit from May 11th to May 12th. will underscore Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with African nations and the French Republic.   The summit, with the theme  - "Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth" -  will provide a high-level platform for African leaders and their Fr...

    Yesterday, The Queen visited the Royal Academy of Arts to officially open the new Burlington Gardens building and mark the Academy's 250th anniversary.The Royal Academy of Arts was founded in 1768 by King George III as a place to promote the appreciation and practise of the visual arts and architecture through exhibitions, education and debate. To this day, The Queen continues as the Academy's 'Patron, Protector and Supporter'.The Queen views the Royal Academy of Arts latest exhibition 'Charles I: King and Collector' - many items have been lent by the Royal Collection Trust.Her Majesty meets Sir David Chipperfield RA who designed the new Royal Academy Burlington Gardens Building.The Queen unveiled the first painting to be displayed in the new building - a self-portrait by Sir Joshua Reynolds, the first President of the Royal Academy.
The Queen is shown some George III paperwork, including the 'Instrument of Foundation', which was signed by The King on 10 December 1768.More photos below.
