 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.        Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State would be at the University of Nigeria Nsukka to deliver the maiden memorial lecture of Professor Miriam Ikejiani Clark on the theme, “The State and Management of Farmers/ Headsmen Conflict in Nigeria: Lessons from the Benue Valley.”
Dr Ifeanyichukwu Abada, the head of Department, Political Science, disclosed this at a press conference in Nsukka on Monday.
According to Abada, Ortom would on May 7 deliver the maiden edition of the memorial lecture of Prof Miriam Ikejiani-Clark organized by department of Political Science, UNN.
Abada, the chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), UNN chapter, said the lecture would help to proffer solutions to the clashes between farmers and herdsmen in the country.
He explained that the department decided to honour and institute a memorial lecture for Ikejiani-Clark because of her contributions to the country and political science in particular.
He said until the death of Ikejiani-Clark in 2011, she held several positions in the university, including the dean, Faculty of Social Science, head of Department of Political Science, coordinator of Postgraduate Programmes, among others.
Abada said the erudite professor also held public appointments since 1983 when she was appointed the Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Town Planning during the administration of Governor C.C Onoh, in old Anambra State.
He recalled that Ikejiani-Clark was appointed a Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from 1995 -1997 and it was during her time that the popular Dei Dei Building Material Market Abuja was established."

  4. Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it
    to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.

    There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
