 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8. GOV. SANWO-OLU APPOINTS 6 NEW PERMANENT SECRETARIES+MAKES GBOYEGA AKOSILE,DEPUTY CHIEF PRESS SECRETARY.#PRESS RELEASE.

    Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the appointment of six new Permanent Secretaries in Lagos State Public Service with effect from 1st June 2019.
A release by the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola listed the appointed Permanent Secretaries and their previous positions as follows:
Dr. Eniayewun Ademuyiwa Benjamin: MD Lagos Island Maternity, Mr. Erinle Olumide Olufolami; Principal Apapa Senior High School, Education District IV and Mrs. Oludara Okelola, Principal Babs Fafunwa Millenium Senior Grammar School, Education District VI.
Others are: Mr. Akewusola Wasiu Adedamola: General Manager, New Town Development Authority, Mrs. Falugba Yewande Abiodun: Director Admin & Human Resource, Ministry of Youth and Social Development and Mr. Osi- Efa Mustapha Abiodun; Director Admin & Human Resource, Ministry of Home Affairs.
The statement said that the portfolios of the appointees will be announced later.
In a similar development, the Governor has confirmed the appointment of Mr. Gboyega Akosile as his Deputy Chief Press Secretary.
The appointment was also announced by the State Head of Service.
