 2026 LABOUR DAY: LASG ANNOUNCES ₦50,000 SALARY SUPPORT FOR WORKERS, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO WELFARE, INDUSTRIAL HARMONY  Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has approved an additional ₦50,000 to State workers’ salaries for May as part of efforts to cushion the prevailing economic hardship, particularly the impact of rising fuel prices. The Governor announced the 2026 Workers Day celebration themed “Insecurity, Poverty: Bane of Decent Work,” held on Friday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan-Lagos. He reiterated that the intervention, which will be reviewed underscores his administration’s resolve to ensure that Lagos remains not only a functional city but one that works for its residents, especially the workforce that drives its growth and development.     The former Commissioner for works and Housing in Kano state, Hon. Muazu Magaji, who was sacked last month for celebrating Abba Kyari's death, tests positive for Coronavirus. According to sources ''Kano Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Muazu Magaji, who was sacked by Governor Umar Ganduje for rejoicing over Abba Kyari’s death has tested positive for Coronavirus.
Ganduje sacked the Commissioner for rejoicing over the death of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari.
Magaji while reacting to Kyari’s death said Nigeria was now free.
The commissioner had claimed that Kyari had so much power that he decided the fate of Nigerians.
However, on Thursday, Magaji revealed that his test result for coronavirus came back positive.He urged Nigerians to pray for him.
Magaji wrote, “This morning my NCDC test result is out. I have been confirmed positive.
“I have been moved to one of the state’s isolation centers. Pray for us.”
