Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has expressed his desire to bring international pop sensation Shakira to Guwahati for a concert in the coming years. Speaking to reporters, the Chief Minister said that the state had an opportunity to host the global superstar in February, but the plan could not move forward due to certain circumstances. CM Sarma stated that he hopes to make the concert possible either next year or sometime within the next two years, highlighting the state’s growing ambition to host world-class entertainment events. He added that the government is not limiting these efforts to Guwahati alone. The Chief Minister shared that he also envisions inviting global performers to other major Assam cities such as Dibrugarh and Silchar in the future. The move, he said, would further boost the cultural landscape and tourism potential of the state, giving Assam a place on the global entertainment map.

FCCPC Urges Nigerians to Report Loan Apps Engaging in Harassment

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has called on Nigerians to report loan apps and businesses that engage in harassment over unpaid loans. The commission emphasized that no consumer should live in fear due to aggressive debt recovery tactics.

This follows ongoing complaints about unethical practices by some digital lenders, including threats, blackmail, and unauthorized access to customers’ contacts. The FCCPC has been working to regulate online lending platforms and has previously sanctioned several operators for violating consumer protection laws.

Nigerians facing harassment from loan apps are encouraged to report such cases to the FCCPC through official channels to ensure appropriate action is taken.

  1. Hmmm, those loan Apps are beasts. Nobody sues them for their nefarious activities and they believe that they are doing the right thing. If they have been paying damages, they will maintain a good decorum than these animalistic behaviours

  2. Online loan companies are worst than terrorist, their modus operandis need to be checked to avoid unnecessary death from their customers.
