 OSUN CHALLENGES COURT ORDER FREEZING STATE ACCOUNTS The Osun State Government has filed an application before the Federal High Court, Lagos, seeking to set aside the September 9, 2026 ex-parte order freezing the State’s accounts, alleging that the order was procured by deceit and concealment of material facts by Gamji Nigeria Company Limited.  The application, filed on October 2, also argues that the order does not accord with public policy and that the arbitration award it seeks to enforce is being challenged by the State Government. A statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment,  Kolapo Alimi, said the State Government’s legal team had approached the Lagos State High Court to set aside the arbitral award, citing alleged irregularities in the arbitration process. CP DAAOR PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO OBA OF BENIN, CONGRATULATES MONARCH ON 10TH CORONATION ANNIVERSARY


The Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Patrick Daaor, psc(+), mnips, has paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Omo N'Oba N'Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, CFR, the great Oba of Benin kingdom at the Royal Palace in Benin City. 


The visit provided an opportunity for the Commissioner and members of the command management team to familiarize with the palace and congratulate His Royal Majesty on the occasion of his 10th Coronation Anniversary, celebrating a decade of leadership, cultural preservation and service to the Benin Kingdom.


CP Daaor expressed appreciation for the significant role of the Palace and traditional institutions in promoting peace, unity and responsible citizenship, while seeking the continued support and partnership of His Royal Majesty in strengthening security across Edo State.


The Commissioner assured the Oba of the Command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing, proactive crime prevention and sustained collaboration with traditional rulers, sister security agencies and communities towards protecting lives and property.


His Royal Majesty graciously received the Commissioner and his entourage, and in his wisdom, expressed his goodwill and continued support for initiatives aimed at sustaining peace, security and harmonious coexistence in Edo State. The Commissioner expressed profound appreciation for the Royal Father’s warm reception and invaluable support to the Police and the people of Edo State.


The Command congratulates His Royal Majesty on this significant milestone and wishes him continued wisdom, good health and a fruitful reign in service to the Benin Kingdom and humanity.
