  ..The Catholic Diocese Of Orlu in Imo State, the south east part of Nigeria has lost one of the outstanding priest, Rev. Fr. Oliver Ochieze in the diocese. The Diocesean official took one of the Dioceses' official social media platforms to break the news about the death of the minister of God. The Catholic priest said to have died of few days after he had suffered from an undisclosed sickness. Untill his death, he was the parish priest of St. Paul's Catholic church, Owerre-Umudioka. He hailed from Amannachi in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State. Fr. Oliver is said to have been a dedicated priest in the Lord's vineyard. He had in many ways contributed to the growthof Catholic church and Christianity in Imo State and Nigeria at large. He was a kind hearted man of God. The parishioners and the entire diocese of Orlu had mourned him.   The Lagos Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has secured the conviction and sentencing of one Aniche Ezenwa Francis to six months imprisonment for internet fraud before Justice Sherifat Solebo of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos. The convict was arrested on August 21, 2020 during an early morning operation by operatives of the EFCC within Rodivan Homes on No. 11/12, Ayo Babatunde Crescent, off Oniru Market, Lekki, Lagos.At the point of arrest, he had destroyed his iPhone 6, iPhone 11 and MacBook Pro laptop by throwing them into a water tank when he sighted operatives of the EFCC.   An inferno resulting from a suspected power surge, today, destroyed 12 shops at Ijesha area of Surulere in Lagos. The Ag. Head, Lagos Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, made the disclosure while responding to inquiries about the incident, which occurred around 6.30pm. “A distress call was received from 1, Market Road, Ijesha Street, Surulere, at about 18:31hrs today. Isolo and Bolade Fire Stations were promptly detailed to rescue the situation and they completely put out the fire at the incident scene,” Adeseye said. She further explained that on arrival at the location, the firefighters discovered that the 12 shops, which were attached to a residential building, had been severely burnt.   In its determination to curtail the spread of the second wave of the COVID-19, the Lagos State Government, on Saturday, commenced the full decontamination/fumigation of offices in the State Secretariat Complex and other Government offices. A statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Office of Environmental Services, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Mrs. Belinda Odeneye, stated that the exercise had become necessary to reduce the risk of the spread of COVID-19 in the State secretariat.
