Tinubu forgave Northern govs who opposed him in 2023, says Shettima Vice President Kashim Shettima has said President Bola Tinubu demonstrated political maturity by forgiving northern governors who opposed his presidential bid in the 2023 election, urging politicians in Kwara State to similarly reconcile after their contests. Shettima stated this on Wednesday in Ilorin while speaking at the turbaning of the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, as the Sardauna of Ilorin Emirate by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari. The Vice President, who spoke against the backdrop of political activities ahead of the 2027 elections, urged politicians to regard political contests as temporary and avoid allowing disagreements arising from them to become permanent divisions.   The Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige has explained that the meeting with the combined unions of Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) and the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) has been postponed to enable the Federal Government negotiating team harmonize all issues from the Memorandum of Understanding reached at separate meetings with tiers and arms of government. Addressing the press in his office, the Minister said this was necessary to ensure that the meeting with the unions come with a Memorandum of Action which is implementable with time lines. “There is no point rushing to do a meeting that will be fruitless. The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Police Command, *CP Monday Bala Kuryas fsi* has expressed his total aversion to unprofessionalism and other extortionist tendencies amongst some Police personnel in the Command. The CP stated this today, 21st April, 2021 following a petition alleging the extortion of the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (#500,000) from a citizen by some men of the Command. Investigations, ordered by the CP, into the case led to the swift identification and arrest of the personnel involved. The sum of N500,000 extorted from the victim was also recovered intact and returned to him and the officers charged with misconduct in line with extant disciplinary procedure of the Force.   A suspected thief was beaten to death and set ablaze by a mob on Katsina-ala street of High-level community, Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State today Wednessday morning, April 21. It was gathered that the suspect, who was part of a four-man gang accosted some ladies with guns and snatched their mobile phones and undisclosed sum of money. When the victims discovered that thief's were using toy guns, they raised an alarm and the suspected robbers fled. The alarm attracted the attention of the mob in the area, who pursued the suspects. They caught four of them, beat one to death before setting his body ablaze. Shortly, after setting the first one on fire, men of the Nigeria police force intervened and rescued the other three.
