SENATE IN EMERGENCY PLENARY OVER CBN ACT AMENDMENT, OTHERS The Senate is reportedly in an emergency plenary presently over the amendment of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2004. According to the order paper, the bills up for debate are: A Bill for an Act to Amend the 2022 Supplementary Appropriation Act and for other matters connected therewith, 2023 (SB. 1124) – Second Reading. (Sen. Gobir, Ibrahim Abdullahi (Sokoto East-Senate Leader). Also to be debated by the lawmakers is ‘A Bill for an Act to Amend the Central Bank of Nigeria Act C4 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 004 and for Other Matters Connected Thereto, 2023 (SB. 1125) – Second Reading Sen. OYO POLICE ISSUES NOTICE OF TRAFFIC DIVERSION AHEAD OF MAY 29 Ahead of the second term inauguration of the Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde, and his Deputy, Bayo Lawal, on Monday, May 29, the state Police Command has issued a notice of diversion of vehicles in some parts of Ibadan metropolis, in order to control traffic. The affected areas include Bola Ige/Christ High School junction, Liberty road, an alternative route is Imalefalafia to Ring Road; Jogor Center/Liberty road junction, an alternative route is Iyana-Adeoyo through Ososami to Ibadan Central Mosque to Molete/Oke-Ado road and Ansarudeen/Liberty road, an alternative route is Bola Ige junction through Ososami to Iyana-Adeoyo. POLICE ARRESTS TWO OVER ATTEMPT TO SELL A TWO-MONTH OLD BABY. Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on Friday, May 26, 2023 successfully foiled an attempt by two women to sell a two-month old baby. The deal was uncovered in Oshodi when one Oge Okolie, aged 25, the intermediary between the mother of the baby and prospective buyer was suspected of stealing the baby. Passengers on a public bus noticed ceaseless crying from the baby with Okolie and questioned why she could not breastfeed it if it were her own biological child. The suspect was about to be lynched when RRS operatives quickly stepped in to rescue her as well as the baby.  Preliminary investigations led to the arrest of the mother of the baby, one Maria Ahmadu ‘f’ aged 26. Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi has since transferred the suspects and baby to the Gender Unit of the Command for further investigation and prosecution.  

Gbajabiamila celebrates Nigerian children The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, has congratulated Nigerian children on the occasion of this year's Children's Day celebration.  The Speaker said the children are worth celebrating for their visible determination to succeed against all odds, as exemplified by the many feats they have accomplished since the last celebration. He, however, emphasised the need for concerted efforts to assist Nigerian children in harnessing their potential and fulfilling their dreams.  Former BBNaija star, Joseph Ada, dies in the US Former BBNaija star, Joseph Ada, has died. Joseph who participated in the inaugural edition of Big Brother Nigeria in 2006 passed away in Delaware, US on Wednesday, May 24. He was diagnosed with Pancreatitis and sadly passed away on Wednesday. Joseph was in the house with other contestants like Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Gideon Okeke, Maureen Osuji, Katung, Francisca Owumi, Ify Ejikeme, Helen, and others. Joseph who was a former flight attendant with Virgin Atlantic, moved to the US after the show. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

From a reliable source, the man fell gravely ill after his sons assaulted him. The sons who graduated from Covenant University, allegedly caught their father with a side chick and demanded a million naira bribe or they'll inform their mom who was at the time holidaying in the United States. It is said that the father called off their bluff and true to their threat they reported the sleazy affair to their mother. The next day their father dropped by at the Coca Cola depot of the wife and when the sons saw him they hounded him out of the place.
