 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

 Constitution Amendment: Bill For Traditional Rulers’ Role, Funding Ready Governors and traditional rulers have agreed to strengthen the role of monarchs in national security and governance. The agreement came during a historic joint meeting between the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) and the National Council of Traditional Rulers on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The gathering, initiated by the NGF chairman and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazak, centred on a proposed bill before the National Assembly that would formalise traditional rulers’ constitutional role.  VeryDarkMan apologizes for wearing police uniform Social critic Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has issued an apology to the Nigeria Police Force for donning a police uniform in one of his recent videos. Earlier in the week, Vanguard reported that the police had condemned his unauthorized use of the uniform and initiated an investigation. In the controversial video, VeryDarkMan wore a police uniform and jokingly introduced himself as a “Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) of the Online Division.” Following the backlash, he released a video on Thursday apologizing for using attire resembling the official police uniform.  Legendary Nollywood actor, Baba Charles Olumo,  a.k.a Agbako, is dead. He was 102. His death was announced few minutes ago by Tampan global president Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr Latin.
