We knew this is different from what our president keeps receiving from people, and that is one of the things that worry us.                                             She served as the president of the Women's Political Council in Montgomery.More than 18 months before the arrest of Rosa Parks,Robinson wrote to Montgomery's Mayor as Women Political Council president,threatening a black boycott of city buses if abuses were not curtailed.Following Rosa Parks arrest in December 1955,Robinson played a central role in the start of the protest by producing the leaflets that spread word of the boycott among the black citizens of Montgomery.View the flier below.                                       The arrest of Rosa Parks December 1 1955                                                                                                          Black citizens in Montgomery begin a one day bus boycott to protest the arrest of Rosa Parks.Black community leaders,impressed with the boycott's success,decided to lengthen the boycott and press for summary elimiation of segregation in the city bus system.The Montgomery Improvement Association {MIA} is formed to coordinate the boycott,and Martin Luther King jr of Dexter Avenue Baptist church is elected president connection with the boycott,king delivers his first civil rights speech at the Holt street Baptist church in Montgomery.
