 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. YINKA OBALEYE,FREED AT LAST.

Mrs Olayinka Obaleye: freed                                                  She was the founder of Oba foams,and was abducted while returning home from her company located at Ilo,Ijebu-Ijesa road in Osun state on November 19,2013 by un-identified gang of armed men.she was finally released on friday but it was not disclosed whether the family paid this ransom before the victim regained her freedom.she was found on friday at Akoko in Ondo state where she was abandoned along with her car in a near by bush in the town,in which it was  claimed that,that was the same spot she was found.she walked her way to a nearby police station where she reported herself before the ondo police command.she was too weak to narrate the ordeal and she was immediately rushed to a an undisclosed hospital.
