Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside. Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area. Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. The full circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, and authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive official statement. Lagos state Director of Public Prosecution {DPP}has established a case of reckless and dangerous driving causing death against Yinusa Ganiyu a driver.today wenesday,at Surulere magistrate court showed that a prima facie case was established against him.the accused hit a bus from behind ,causing two passengers,including the driver of the bus and the deceased to sustained injuries.the injury sustained by one Alhaji muda Oyebanji 68,led to his death.the accused was not focused in his driving and that he lost control of the vehicle,causing the accident.the advice from the DPP stated that the accused should be prosecuted for reckless and dangerous driving and for causing death.the accused was arraigned on OCT 19,and his facing two count charge before the court.the offence committed contravened section 19 and 20 of the Road Traffic Act of Lagos state.Ganiyu pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties.the case was Adjourned to December 17 for mention.
