NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges. A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters and two H-125 helicopters. The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. A deposed white cap chief in the area of Lagos island,died early saturday morning.All the shops in the market were ordered to close in honour of the deceased and the entire market was shut down.It was learnt that the deceased named Balogun Okolo has been sick for sometime now before he finally gave up the ghost early saturday morning.He died of Diabetes,an ailment that rendered him immobile for few weeks.It was further learnt that the late Balogun Okolo used to be a white cap chief at Iga Idunganran palace.A bitter disagreement with the Eleko of Eko,Oba Rilwan Akiolu,led to his being disposed.His deposition also led to his name being removed from the traditional chiefs list of the local government.His salary and other emolument were also canceled.
