Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside. Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area. Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. The full circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, and authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive official statement. There is a fresh clash between the Boko Haram insurgents and the Nigerian military and that have displaced thousands,making them flee across the Nigerian border with Cameoon and entered Niger.The refugees said their villagers were bombed,that several people had been killed and that at least two villages were burnt to the ground.The clash,raises the number of Nigerian refugees in Cameroon to be more than 12,400 just over 2,000 of whom have been moved to camps deeper inside the country.Those who fled include 8,000 Nigerians and 30,000 Niger nationals who had been living in Nigeria.The latest refugees there told UN aid workers that they had fled a village after its mosque was attacked,seven peple were killed and 6 shops burnt.
