NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges. A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters and two H-125 helicopters. The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. The Nigeria joint task force,JTF,fighting terrorists in northern part of the country said it has apprehended a Boko haram chieftain,who doubles as the group's bomb maker in Kazaure,Jigawa state,Captain Ikedichi Iweha,spokesman of 3 Brigade,Nigeria army,head quartersin Kano,said six people were rescued during a dawn raid that led to the arrest of the yet to be identified terrorist.Those rescued were three women and three toddlers,suspected to be family members of the man who intelligence gathering revealed has been in the business of aiding and abating terrorist activities in the north.Item recovered during the raid that resulted into a gun duel include five AK 47 rifles,five magazines,and 333 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition and various improvised explosive devices.One more picture below.
