 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. CARMEN ZAPATA,SISTERS ACT STAR,DIES AT 86YEARS.

A class act: Carmen played a Choir Nun in the 1992 movie Sister Act and the 1993 sequel Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit         She appeared alongside Whoopi Goldberg in both Sisters Act and Sisters Act 2.She passed away at her home in Van Nuys on Sunday.Her organization-Bilingual foundation of the Arts also revealed that Carmen had been dealing with an illness and a heart condition for sometime.She had acted in Death in Granada with Andy Grarcia,The Bold Ones,Married With Children,Falcon Crest,LA Law and Dr Quinn,and Medicine Woman etc.She was a New Yorker native,with a Mexican father and Argentine mother.She received a star on the Hollywood walk of fame in 2003,and was Knighted by King Juan Carlos of Spain in 1990.Carmen made her Broadway debut in 1946.She also performed in musicals such as guys,Dolls and Carnivals.She was a leading force in show casing Latino culture in Los Angeless.More pictures below.                                 Heyday: Actress Carmen Zapata - seen here in Hands of Love in 1971 - died at the age of 86 on Sunday at her home in Van NuysLegend: Carmen receives her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles in October 2003
