Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. The picture above is the remain's of Vladimir Komarov,16 march 1927-24 April 1967,was a soviet test pilot,aerospace engineer and cosmonaut in the first group of cosmonauts selected in 1960.He was one of the most highly experienced and well qualified candidates accepted into Airforce Group one''.Komarov was declared medically unfit for training or space flight twice while he was in the program,but his perseverance and superior skills and his knowledge as an engineer allowed him to continue playing an active role.He contributed to space vehicle design,cosmonaut training and evaluation and public relation.He was eventually selected to command the first soviet multiman voskhood 1 space flight that presented a number of technical innovations in the space race.Komarov was later chosen for the rigorous task of commanding soyuz 1 as part of the soviet union's bid to reach the moon first.His space flight on soyuzi made him the first cosmonaut to fly into outer space more than once,and he became the first human to be killed during a space flight.He was killed when the soyuz 1 space capsule crashed after re-entry on April 24,1967,due to a parachute failure.More pictures below.
