Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside. Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area. Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. The full circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, and authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive official statement. One of my sources,Ikay Ogbonna,from Awka Anambra state,have confirmed that the problems associated with the pouring of sand by the deceased widow or widower in the grave of his or her beloved one's as a sign of goodbye in Awka kingdom has finally been laid to rest by the pronouncement of Justice Hope Uzodimma of Awka High court stipulating that the Catholic burials will no longer be disrupted by any authority in Awka,in the name of preserving traditions/customs of the land.My question is these,the people that made the law that widow/widowers will not pour sand in the grave of their love ones,is there a spiritual inplication if they go ahead with what the court rules,just to prove a point?
