 STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE   ENGINEERS FAROUK AHMED, GBENGA KOMOLAFE RESIGN, PRESIDENT TINUBU NOMINATES SUCCESSORS TO THE SENATE FOR APPROVAL President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked the Senate to approve the nominations of two new chief executives for the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).   The requests followed the resignation of Engineer Farouk Ahmed of the NMDPRA and Gbenga Komolafe of the NUPRC. Both officials were appointed in 2021 by former President Buhari to lead the two regulatory agencies created by the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).   To fill these positions, President Tinubu has written to the Senate, requesting expedited confirmation of Oritsemeyiwa Amanorisewo Eyesan as CEO of NUPRC and Engineer Saidu Aliyu Mohammed as CEO of NMDPRA.   The two nominees are seasoned professionals in the oil and gas industry.   Eyesan, a graduate of Economics f...

REUTERS-Jesus Blasco de Avellaneda                     Sources claimed that about 500 people forced their way into span's north Africa enclave of Melilla today tueday,in which the Spanish officials said is the largest number to storm the border in almost a decade as increasing naval patrols discourage entry by sea.Spain has two enclave in Morocco,Ceuro and Melilla,and migrants from all over Africa regularly try to reach them,mostly by climbing the triple barriers that separate them from Morocco.Thousands of migrants camp for months around Beni Chiguer,from where the attempts were made today tuesday to sneak into the enclave illegally.The area around Chiguer is covered in shrubs,providing cover for people who attempt to cross or sneak in by night.Migrants enter the enclaves without official documents,often without belongings and wearing just flimsy shoes and shorts,and are housed in temporary centers untill their identity can be determined or untill they are moved.Many end up in Spain and either stay there or travel through out europe.Many Africans have lost their life just to get to that enclave.          Would-be immigrants react from behind the fence of a temporary immigrant holding center after crossing the border from Morocco to Spain's north African enclave of Melilla March 18, 2014.
