A MANHUNT IS UNDERWAY FOR MAN WHO SHOT A GRANITE CITY POLICE OFFICER MULTIPLE TIMES.(PHOTO).

  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. 50 POUNDS NOTE TO BE WITHDRAWN FROM THE MARKET.

           According to sources,the 50pounds banknote featuring a portrait of Sir John Houblon on the back will no longer  be accepted as legal tender after wednesday 30th April.The Bank of England announced it was withdrawing the note back in January as part of its strategy to combat fraud.From Thursday,1st May only 50pounds notes depicting entrepreneur Matthew Boulton and engineer James Watt,which launched in November 2011,will count as legal tender.One more photo below.
