 ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND RECEIVES AND AUGMENTS IGP’S MONITORING UNIT OPERATIVES ON ENFORCEMENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL WITHDRAWAL FROM VIP ESCORT DUTIES IN THE STATE The Anambra State Police Command today 8th December 2025 formally received operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Monitoring Unit deployed to the state to ensure full implementation of the IGP’s directive on the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP escort and guard duties. The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting the IGP’s reform efforts targeted at enhancing professionalism, discipline, and optimal deployment of police manpower nationwide. The CP noted that the withdrawal of these officers will help to strengthen public policing, improve response capacity, and ensure that more personnel are available for core policing duties across the state. Abubakar Shekau:Boko Haram leader claims responsibility for Nyanya bombing                                              After so many rumors and speculation if the Boko Haram was actually responsible for the bombing,now the leader of Nigerian Boko Haram,Abubakar Shekau claimed responsibility for the bombing at Nyanya park that killed over hundreds and many injured.In a 28 minute video he said ''We are the ones that carried out the attack in Abuja''.He spoke in both Arabic and Hausa language.The message was delivered to AFP in a manner consistent with previous videos from Boko Haram.Shekau indicated that Boko Haram has fighter based in the capital.Then he said to Goodluck Jonathan ''we are in your city''.He has been declared a global terrorist by the United states which has put a $7million bounty on his head.
