NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges. A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters and two H-125 helicopters. The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. Justice Adeniyi Ademola ruled in favour of the PDP against the lawmakers who defected to the main opposition,that they must vacate their seats.The 37 lawmakers who defected from President Jonathan's party Peoples Democratic Party {PDP}to the opposition All Progressive congress {APC}in December leaving PDP without a majority in the lower house.The Justice said ''It is clear and unambigious that the defendants were sponsored by the PDP and won the election on its platform.There was no evidence of division within the PDP,which might have provided a case for them to keep their seats.The defendants are therefore not competent to vote or contribute to any proceeding the house of Representatives''.He also issued an injuction restraining them from altering or attempting to change the leadership of the house.
