M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". According to a national paper,a member of a five man gang of kidnappers,including a lady,lure men through a popular online dating website known as Badoo to a lonely spot where they are attacked and robbed of their valuables while the unfortunate one will be strangled.The suspects are Michael Eneji,his brother Emmanuel Eneji,Chukwu Chibueze,Gift Princess and Lekia Emmaden Isaac,were apprehended by the Rivers State police command days after the family of one of their latest victim Shola Olaseinde was reported missing by his family.He was later found in a decomposing state in a bush,close to a deserted pipeline area at Eleme,Port Harcourt,River state.Few meters away,was also the decomposed body of another victim,who was later identified as Mr Progress Benin Disi,a staff of Shell Oil serving company whose family had also reported missing since,March 7,2014.At the police station,the leader of the gang,27 year old Michael Eneji a footballer confessed to the crime and said that his gang didn't know that the late Shola Olaseinde would not be able to escape from the forest after dispossessing him of his valuables.
