*PRESS RELEASE* EDO POLICE CONVENES POLITICAL PARTIES, SETS SECURITY TONE FOR 2027 ELECTIONEERING The Edo State Police Command has convened Chairmen of political parties, candidates and other key stakeholders in the electoral process for a strategic security meeting ahead of the 2027 electioneering campaigns. The meeting, held on Wednesday, 16th September, 2026, was designed to strengthen engagement between the Police and political actors, promote early understanding of security expectations, and establish a framework for peaceful and lawful political activities across the State. Addressing participants, the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Patrick Daaor, psc(+), mnips, emphasised that the role of the Police is to create the conditions for lawful political activity to thrive, not to participate in the political contest, and stressed the need for responsible conduct and sustained cooperation with security agencies. According to a national news paper,suspected 186 hoodlums were arrested today when officials of the Lagos state environmental and special offences unit stormed Oshodi Lagos state.Those arrested include 33 underage children and a mother with her five children,The children,will be taken to the Lagos state correctional centre for rehabilitation.They raided the area between 12.30am and 1.30am.206 suspected hoodlums were initially arrested but after screening,20 people were set free.Task force chairman,Bayo Sulaiman,Chief Superintendent of police,said ''After we arrested some last last week,we decided to do a follow up because the exercise is continuous.We don't know where these people came from but we will continue to monitor Oshodi.Mothers take care of your children.They should not allow their children to get back to the street again''.
