 NSCDC Deploys 4,000 Personnel in FCT for Yuletide Security The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) FCT Command has assured residents of robust security throughout the Christmas and New Year festivities. Commandant Olusola Odumosu announced that 4,000 personnel have been deployed across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and its surrounding areas to ensure public safety and protect Critical National Assets and Infrastructure. The personnel, drawn from various specialized units including the Special Intervention Squad, Counter Terrorism Unit, Arm Squad, Agro Rangers, and others, will work to maintain peace and order during the festive season. In a statement issued on Thursday, signed by command spokesperson Monica Ojobi, Odumosu called for strict adherence to the operation order and emphasized the importance of securing key locations such as infrastructure, worship centers, markets, and recreational areas. REUTERS/Michael Kooren             According to sources,Germain Katanga was sentenced to 12 years in prison today friday for his part in an attack on a village in northeast Congo more than a decade ago in which victims were carved limb from limb.Judges at the International Criminal Court said Katanga who was 24 at the time of the attack,was crusial in arming the ethnic Lendu and Ngiti fighters who carried out the atack on Bogoro village,when some 200 ethnic Herma civilians were killed.The Judge Bruno Cotte said ''The attackers literally carved their victims up limb from limb''.Kantaga becomes only the second person to be sentenced by the court,which was set up 12 years ago to bring to justice those guilty of the most serious international crimes,but which has been criticized for slow justice and singling out Africans for prosecution.
