 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. REUTERS/Michael Kooren             According to sources,Germain Katanga was sentenced to 12 years in prison today friday for his part in an attack on a village in northeast Congo more than a decade ago in which victims were carved limb from limb.Judges at the International Criminal Court said Katanga who was 24 at the time of the attack,was crusial in arming the ethnic Lendu and Ngiti fighters who carried out the atack on Bogoro village,when some 200 ethnic Herma civilians were killed.The Judge Bruno Cotte said ''The attackers literally carved their victims up limb from limb''.Kantaga becomes only the second person to be sentenced by the court,which was set up 12 years ago to bring to justice those guilty of the most serious international crimes,but which has been criticized for slow justice and singling out Africans for prosecution.
