 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. CONGOLESE WAR LORD,SENTENCED TO 12 YEAR.

REUTERS/Michael Kooren             According to sources,Germain Katanga was sentenced to 12 years in prison today friday for his part in an attack on a village in northeast Congo more than a decade ago in which victims were carved limb from limb.Judges at the International Criminal Court said Katanga who was 24 at the time of the attack,was crusial in arming the ethnic Lendu and Ngiti fighters who carried out the atack on Bogoro village,when some 200 ethnic Herma civilians were killed.The Judge Bruno Cotte said ''The attackers literally carved their victims up limb from limb''.Kantaga becomes only the second person to be sentenced by the court,which was set up 12 years ago to bring to justice those guilty of the most serious international crimes,but which has been criticized for slow justice and singling out Africans for prosecution.
