Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside. Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area. Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. The full circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, and authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive official statement. 34 year old Mr Saliu,a LASTMA {Lagos State Transport Management Authority},has been dismissed and arraigned before a Lagos court for allegedly receiving N1,000 bribe from a motorist.In the Magistrate court,he was charged with conspiracy,impersonation and extorting money from motorists.He was sacked after several reports of his illegal collection of bribes from motorists.He was sacked after several reports of his illegal collection of bribes from motorists.After he was sacked,Matiu continued extorting money from motorists illegally.It was the case of a motorist Muritala Hakeem that exposed him after he collected N1,000 from him for committing an undisclosed traffic offence.He was arrested while wearing the LASTMA uniform.His matter was adjourned to July 16 2014.He is still in Kirikiri prison because he could not meet up with his N100,000 bail.
