 LASG HOSTS Y2024 WOMEN'S ASSEMBLY TO EMPOWER, CELEBRATE WOMEN Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to advancing and empowering women, describing them as the pillars of communities, contributing in numerous ways as mothers, entrepreneurs, educators and leaders.  Governor Sanwo-Olu stated this in his keynote address at the 2024 Women's Assembly for Local Government and Local Council Development Areas organised by the Ministry of Women's Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) at the De Blue Roof, LTV 8 complex, Agindigbi Ikeja.  The Governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Governor, Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, described the Assembly as a critical platform for celebrating women’s contributions and tackling challenges affecting their well-being. DESERT BURIAL FOR SAUDI ARABIA STUDENT WHO WAS MURDERED IN ESSEX.

Tragic homecoming: Thousands of men attend the funeral of Nahid Almanea in the desert of Al Jouf, Saudi Arabia, after she was stabbed 16 times and left to die while walking through Colchester last week           Thousands of mourners came out for late 31 year old Nahid Almanea,who was buried in her native Aljouf Saudi Arabia home on Saturday afternoon after her body was released by Essex police and flown back to the middle east.The police are still hunting the killer who last tuesday morning stabbed her 16 times and left her to die as she walked home from the university along a quiet foot path in a park in Colchester.She has been taking an english language course at the university of Essex since January as part of her studies for a life sciences PHD.CCTV cameras picked up her image when she was walking home.More photos below.          Police previously released descriptions of other men they wished to speak to over the 31-year-old's murderHunt: Police are draining three fishing lakes near where Saudi student Nahid Almanea was stabbed 16 times and left for dead in Colchester, Essex.
