 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. NIGERIA AND OTHER EBOLA AFFECTED COUNTRIES BARRED FROM YOUTH OLYMPIC IN CHINA.

             According to the International Olympic committee and Chinese organisers said today friday that ''Athletes from affected areas will not compete in combat sports and also decided that no athletes from the region would compete in the pool.The decision was made with regards to ensuring the safety of all those participating in the games taking place in the eastern Chinese city of Nanjing''.They did not reveal nationalities and names of the athletes affected by the decision.According to the youth Olympic website,there were a total of 25 people on the team lists of Ebola hit countries like Sierra Leone,Liberia,Guinea and Nigeria.It was not immediately clear how many of the 25 competitors had already arrived in Beijing nor why only one swimmer had been barred,given that there were three from the affected countries.
