Obamas planned to meet Rob and Michele Reiner the night the Hollywood couple were killed Former First Lady Michelle Obama revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that she and former President Barack Obama had planned to see Rob and Michele Reiner the night the couple was tragically killed. The Reiners were found dead from apparent knife wounds in their Brentwood home Sunday afternoon. Their 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, was arrested later that night on suspicion of the killings. Michelle Obama described the Reiners as “some of the most decent, courageous people you ever want to know,” pushing back against President Trump’s comments labeling Rob Reiner “deranged” and “tortured and struggling.” She emphasized the couple’s dedication to family, fairness, and equity.
