NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges. A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters and two H-125 helicopters. The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. Today Tuesday that Goodluck Jonathan is declaring,Boko Haram was also taken over another town Maiha in Adamawa state.Maiha is about 25 kilometers from Mubi,the commercial town that was captured by the Islamic militant group Boko Haram,last week.According to sources,even before the town fell to the hands of the insurgents,ii was already a shadow of itself as commercial and social activities were paralyzed.People were already leaving the town due to it's proximity to Mubi.Fleeing residents said they saw many soldiers running away from the area with some of them hitch-hiking in resident's vehicles.The soldiers told the residents that if the insurgents caught up with them,it would lead to instant death.More photos below.
