Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside. Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area. Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. The full circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, and authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive official statement. According to sources,the kidnapping occurred on sunday around the village of Mabass.It was later said by the Cameroon authorities,that this is the largest abductions on Cameroon soil.Not only did the suspected Boko Haram insurgents kidnap adults,but they also kidnapped children.A spokesman for the defense ministry said ''The Cameroon army was able to free about 24 hostages taken yesterday by Boko Haram in the far north.They were freed as defense forces pursued the attackers who were heading back to Nigeria''.One more picture below.
