 PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE COMMENDS RESILIENCE OF NIGERIAN WORKERS President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio has congratulated Nigerian workers on International Labour Day 2026, praising their resilience, hard work, and patriotism despite economic challenges. In his May Day message, Akpabio described workers as the true heroes of Nigeria’s democracy and the engine of the economy. 32 SUSPECTS,PARADED BY THE POLICE IN AKWA IBOM STATE YESTERDAY,OVER DIFFERENT OFFENCES.

                                       Yesterday wednesday in Akwa Ibom state,32 suspects were paraded over an allege involvement in different criminal activities including rape,defilement,child and human trafficking.First story was a four year old child was allegedly sold for N55,000,was recovered and reunited with his family.According to the Assitant Commissioner of Police Mike Okoro,who said that ''The child Bright Mbaka,was stolen on January 17 by one Grace Uwem,a cousin to the victim's mother.He said the child was passed through a chain of suspects in Port Harcourt,Rivers state,and finally to Mma Charity and Rehabilitation home in Isiala Ngwa south Local Government Area of Abia state.The child was allegedly hand over to the proprietor of the home,one Lilian Mma Achumbs who also doubles as the PDP women leader in the state,adding that seven suspects have all confessed to the crime.The police have also arrested one Sabbath Christian Ezekiel,who sold a baby for N90,000.Also in police custody is one Pastor Udo Obot Job,who defiled a 14 year old girl.It was gathered that the girls father,one Bassey Stephen,was receiving treatment in the pastor's house when the pastor lured the girl into a room and raped her.I warn all parents to always monitor the movement of their children and wards while calling on members of the public to volunteer.Information that could help the police to reduce crime in the state is also welcome''.
