Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years for N43.5m Fraud Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud. The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00 Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep
According to sources,recently a 14 year old Arshdeep Kaur and her mother Shinder,were traveling fro their home in Punjab,northern India to visit relatives when a group of about half a dozen men began harassing them.The men grabbed the 14 year old and made several attempts to molest her and her mother,but instead of defending them,the bus staff joined in the sexual assault.The incident took place on a near empty bus near Moga,some 50 miles from the Pakistan border,in Punjab province.From the testimony the mother of the 14 year old gave the press in the hospital,she said Shortly after they boarded the bus,a group of men had surrounded them and tried to grab both of them.The mother alerted the conducted about the harassment instead the conductor joined in and started abusing them both.After fighting off her attackers,she ran through the bus to tell the driver to stop the bus,but immediately the driver started driving faster.The assault continued untill the bus slowed down and they were pushed off the bus by the men.Both mother and daughter suffered serious injuries,but the daughter later died in the hospital.The police had launched an investigation to capture the molesters.One more photo below.
