 Anambra to go after houses without proper drainage in order to combat Erosion  Worried by the rising menace of gully erosion, the Anambra State Government has threatened to enforce regulations requiring residents to provide proper drainage for storm water from their homes. The State Executive Council (ANSEC), which announced the proposed enforcement, lamented that erosion remains an existential challenge in Anambra, blaming the situation on careless actions by some communities and lapses by regulatory bodies in enforcing environmental laws. Briefing journalists after the weekly executive council meeting, the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, said it had been observed that some residents channel storm water from their homes directly onto roads, where it accumulates and worsens the erosion crisis across the state. “ANSEC has resolved to step up enforcement to compel residents to properly channel and manage storm water from their houses. AT LAST OIL MARKETERS,CALLS OFF THE STRIKE.

                      The oil Major Marketers Association of  Nigeria {MOMAN} has finally reached an agreement with the government to begin supplying country with much needed petroleum products.Magnus Abe,the Chairman of the Senate committee on petroleum resources,informed press that a solution to fuel crisis has just been worked out during the meeting of MOMAN representatives,Major stakeholders in the oil and gas sector,senate committee on Petroleum resources and Ngozi Okonjo Iweala,minister of finance.According to that decision,petroleum products delivery across the country will be restated in six hours.At the same time the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas workers {NUPENG} and the petroleum and natural gass senior staff association {PENGASSAN},which had suspended their activities previously,have also decided to call off their ongoing strike to end the fuel crisis hitting Nigeria's economy.During the meeting,it was agreed that the department of petroleum resources has the right to revoke the license of those oil marketers which refuse to lift petroleum products across Nigeria.
