Lagos police launch investigation as jeweller  accuses its officers of harassment The Lagos State Police Command said it has commenced an investigation into a viral video of a jeweller accusing some policemen in the Festac area of the state of harassing him.  The command disclosed this in an X post on Saturday. The video, which circulated on X on Saturday morning, shows the businessman engaged in a struggle with some policemen. Later in the video, the businessman could be seen with a bloody face after allegedly sustaining a cut beside his right eye during the struggle with the police officers,  The jeweller later explained that the policemen from the Festac Division had stopped him for a routine search. DIRECTOR OF THE NATIONAL INLAND WATERWAYS AUTHORITY HAJIA CIROMA,RESIGNS TODAY.

                       Hajia Inna Ciroma,the Director of NIWA,today wednesday tendered her resignation letter,with effect from May 28.This was contained in a statement signed by Mr Tayo Fadile,the authority's General Manager,Corporate Affairs,and made available to newsmen in Lokoja.The statement quoted the information from her letter of resignation addressed to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation {SGF}.It stated that the former minister of Women Affairs,thanked President Goodluck Jonathan,for giving her the opportunity to serve in that capacity.She assumed duty as the Managing Director of NIWA on May 13,2013 following her appointment by the president.Inna Ciroma,who is also a former National Women Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party {PDP},said her decision to resign was honourable and the right thing to do,the statement said.
