 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. Governor Willie Obiano (M) and the commissioners at the right                    Those sworn in yesterday monday are Mr Okey Moka {Finance],Mrs Gladys Ilobi {Special Duties} Mr Afam Mbanefo {Agriculture},Mr Frank Offor {Housing and Urban Development} and Dr Uju Nwogu {Information,Cultural and Tourism}.Governor Willie Obiano said he has appointed the five new Commissioners to assist in steering the affairs of the state.Administering Oath of office on the appointees on Monday in Awkka,the Director of Civil Litigation,Mr Emeka Ike,explained that the appointment was in the accordance with the provision of sections 190 and 194 of the constitution of the country.The governor on his part congratulated the appointees,urging them to see their appointments as a priviledge and call to serve the people.''Serving under this administration is an honour to those of you who have been sworn in and we look up to assist in moving the state forward.What you have just signed is your job specifications,with time frme for performance monitoring.So you will only stay apart of the team,if you are found worthy''.Responding on behalf of the commissioner,Nwogu expressed gratitude to the governor for find them worthy to serve the state,promising to key into the tempo of development strides.
