NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges. A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters and two H-125 helicopters. The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. Today monday,a High court Judge identified as Mr Justice Samuel Obayomi,was kidnapped today and his orderly Cpl Usman Musa,was shut dead today early morning attack.He was kidnapped on his way to work.His driver Mr Ajayi Kolawole,told newsmen in Lokoja that the incident took place infront of the Executive guest villa at Okene GRA in the in the Okene Local Government Area of the state.Kolawole said that the judge's orderly Musa was shot dead on the spot by the kidnappers in an operation that took place between 8:40am ad 45am.He described the three gunmen as heavily armed,unmasked and wearing dark glasses.The driver said the gunmen ordered the judge and his aides to lie facedown.Kolawole said that the kidnappers opened fire on the orderly killing him on the spot.The police Area Commander at Okene,mr Kehinde Kolawole,said the driver had been detained to help in police investigations.
