STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE ENGINEERS FAROUK AHMED, GBENGA KOMOLAFE RESIGN, PRESIDENT TINUBU NOMINATES SUCCESSORS TO THE SENATE FOR APPROVAL President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked the Senate to approve the nominations of two new chief executives for the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC). The requests followed the resignation of Engineer Farouk Ahmed of the NMDPRA and Gbenga Komolafe of the NUPRC. Both officials were appointed in 2021 by former President Buhari to lead the two regulatory agencies created by the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA). To fill these positions, President Tinubu has written to the Senate, requesting expedited confirmation of Oritsemeyiwa Amanorisewo Eyesan as CEO of NUPRC and Engineer Saidu Aliyu Mohammed as CEO of NMDPRA. Today monday,a High court Judge identified as Mr Justice Samuel Obayomi,was kidnapped today and his orderly Cpl Usman Musa,was shut dead today early morning attack.He was kidnapped on his way to work.His driver Mr Ajayi Kolawole,told newsmen in Lokoja that the incident took place infront of the Executive guest villa at Okene GRA in the in the Okene Local Government Area of the state.Kolawole said that the judge's orderly Musa was shot dead on the spot by the kidnappers in an operation that took place between 8:40am ad 45am.He described the three gunmen as heavily armed,unmasked and wearing dark glasses.The driver said the gunmen ordered the judge and his aides to lie facedown.Kolawole said that the kidnappers opened fire on the orderly killing him on the spot.The police Area Commander at Okene,mr Kehinde Kolawole,said the driver had been detained to help in police investigations.
