 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. 21 KIRIKIRI PRISON INMATES,FREED TODAY BY LAGOS CHIEF JUDGE.

Justice Oluwafumilayo Atilade                                                                   Today wednesday,21 inmates were freed by the Chief Judge of Lagos state Justice Oluwafunmilayo Atilade.The release was in exercise of the powers conferred on her under section 1 {1} of the Criminal Justice Release from Custoday Act Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2007.Most of the inmates released were those who have spent more time than they would have if convicted of the crimes for which they are facing trial.Admonishing the lucky inmates,Justice Atilade urged them to keep away from crime and henceforth be of good behaviour.Justice Atilade said her visit to the prison to release inmates would be a continuous exercise.''Those of you released should henceforth be of good behaviour.The state government is committed to a crime free Lagos and any one found committing crime will be arrested and prosecuted''.The CJ also appealed to non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders working with the prisons authority to ensure that those released are properly re-integrated into the society.
